This year, we are launching a new collection, together with the expression “Ease into it”. Behind the expression "Ease into" (something) lies the meaning; being gently introduced to a new situation. We made a short video interview with Trine Sørensen (@trine.sen) and Cecilie Andreasen (@cecilieandreasens), small talking about easing into new things, their experiences with New Year’s resolutions and how they would build up a good routine that makes sense for them.
Like many of us probably, Trine and Cecilie recognize that it can be quite difficult to maintain New Year’s resolutions. They address that it has become something we sometimes do more of obligation than desire. We often tend to start at level 110%, instead of setting the bar lower and making milestones along the way, so we succeed easier and maintain our desire to work towards our resolutions.
Trine turned her News Year’s resolution around and said “Can I do something for me? For me it was like, ‘okay I need to get 8 hours of sleep every day’. ‘I need to do a skin routine or something’. For me. Cause it was easier actually” Cecilie continues: “I think you have to make it simple, do it for yourself and not because everyone else is doing it”
If January is the month where you want to start doing a new kind of exercise, then remember, it all starts with you. Exercise and being active in general are different from person to person, and so is sustainable routines. Your friend’s routine might not fit you, and the other way around. So, start by setting smaller goals, and find your way towards what suits your daily life. Your rate for success is much higher if you set the bar lower.
So, with that being said - Ease Into It - whether it is a goal of being active, a new job, changing a habit or in general just starting something new.
Happy New Year!
Katja, Marketing Coordinator at EYDA
Ps. I started a lot of things too intensively too! Maybe it should be my New Year’s resolution, to try a new mindset; ‘just ease into it’ ;-)
]]>We meet Sofie and Emilie at the sourdough bakery, the perfect place to finish the morning gym routine. The girls often stop by the bakery, which is centrally located in cozy surroundings. You can sit down at the bakery or take it with you. The order is always the same: a sourdough roll with butter and cheese, and a latte. Sofie has had big success with her sourdough baking at home. If you want to endeavor yourself, the bakery offers courses for 900 kr. per person.
At Aalborg’s waterfront with open views of Limfjorden you’ll find the House of Music. A beautiful building that is definitely worth a visit. The architectural pearl has both concert halls, restaurants and teaching facilities. If you want to keep up to date with concerts, shows and lectures you can follow them here.
If you like a good walk with friends the waterfront great for that too. Beside the open views, it also has lots of little cafes and restaurants. You can visit Aalborg Streetfood at Skudehavn to get a large selection of delicious foods. Close by the House of Music you find the Utzon Center as well.
If you want new exhibitions to discover, you can visit the KUNSTEN Museum of Modern Art. We stopped by while the exhibition SKUM - an inflatable sculpture drawn by BIG, Bjarke Ingels Group - was on. Regardless of what you’re into there is always something to discover here, and particular kids will find the big fountain in the garden entertaining. If you want to grab food while you’re there you can experience the small greenhouses, enjoy a nice brunch or a lunch in Brasserie Kunsten.
Skovdalen is an outdoor auditorium which hosts concerts under the open skies, and for Emilie and Sofie it a favorite place to meet for an outdoor workout. The place is surrounded by a beautiful nature, so there are great options for running, stair sprints, mountain climbers, lunges or whatever you feel like. We love outdoor training this is a perfect place for that.
]]>You may have discovered that your mother may have taught you a thing or two that didn’t turn out to be true or you might have thought she was crazy embarrassing during your teens - yet she is likely one of the most important people in your life. Even though you are an adult (and it may have been a long time since you moved away from home), it's nice to know that your mom is always just a phone call away. She gives you a special kind of security - whether it takes form in her special recipe for meatballs, in her listening to you telling her about your new job or just being able to talk about everything and getting her advice .
Being friends with your mom
Over the last couple decades, the relationship between mothers and daughters have changed and many experience a close friendship with their mom. Young women no longer see their mothers as being "old" and we want to spend quality time with them. Maybe you even have exactly the same taste in clothes, want to watch the same movies, go to the gym or go to yoga together.
However, it is natural that your mother will likely always have a sense of responsibility towards you, and it is quite normal that you may become angry or frustrated when you think she is controlling or interfering too much in your life. There is no doubt she does it just to help, guide and take care of you; that is simply one of her qualities as a mother. You may find that as you get older and become a mother yourself, you can see many of her qualities in yourself and even catch yourself saying things to your children, sounding exactly like your mother did to you.
Mother's Day
Mother's Day is just around the corner, and with this campaign, we would therefore like to pay tribute to all mothers and give you the opportunity to pamper your mother with a pair of tights. We were once told that blue is the colour most women would choose if they could not choose either black or white. This we believe, because we find that blue harmonises with all eye colours, hair colours and skin tones. That is why we choose to have many different shades of blue in the EYDA shop, ranging all the way from light blue to dark navy.
Are you into hip hop, house, salsa or swing? Have you tried tango, zumba, groove or ballet? In recent years, the interest in dance has grown. We dance at educational facilities, at festivals, at dance schools and in the gyms. Dance is for children, youngsters, adults and the elderly. Everyone can dance! And many people experience that dance creates flow and a feeling of freedom in the body as well as in the community. Dance opens up the body's natural joy of movement.
Dancing is fascinating - especially because everyone can dance, and that dancing puts us in a good mood. Dance can build bridges between people, as dance is universal, existential, cultural and personal. Dance travels through time periods and across national borders, making it subject to constant change and evolvement - a great thing! It's not unlikely that salsa, which originates from Cuba, tango from Argentina or the raw hip hop genre from street cultures in New York, will suddenly become popular in a completely different country. Dance is associated with the culture and society we live in but can be showcased all over the world.
When you dance, you are allowed to be present in the moment, with others - even without talking to each other. Language goes beyond words and comes out through the body when we dance. The following smiles and laughter further connect us and makes us happy. However, it is not dancing alone that puts us in a good mood, it is also the music that we dance to. Music can bring joy to both body and mind and send us into an almost euphoric state of happiness.
Dancing is available to all people and it is never too late to start dancing no matter what age you are or how you feel! The body is designed to experience pleasure and joy from movement.
When we dance, we actually take care of our bodies, as we train flexibility, balance, strength, fitness and coordination. It may feel as if you are on uncertain ground, but it is precisely this unpredictability, play and spontaneity that helps create joy and the flow and feeling of freedom whilst dancing.💃🏼
Our goal is to create training clothes so comfortable and versatile that you are always ready to jump directly from the office chair and onto the living room floor and to move around without having to change your clothes. Anna High Neck Sports bra is comfortable to wear and sits high on the neck. It provides a low-medium support and can easily be used as an everyday bra. Emma Long Sleeve is the perfect everyday shirt that you can style with all our tights and create a cool look with one of our sweatshirts over the top.
]]>Have you ever experienced the feeling of your chest moving around when you run or exercise? If yes, then you should definitely consider a new sports bra!
The right sports bra can reduce the movement of your chest, when you run or jump, by up to 78%. Depending on the firmness and size of your breasts, they move up to 9 cm, without a sports bra, for each running step you take. In a sports bra suitable to your activity level and your preferred form of training, the chest only moves approx. 2 cm. However, a sports bra without enough support will have you moving 5-6 cm.
Without a sports bra for training, your chest is able to move too much. This can be uncomfortable and painful and can eventually weigh down your chest. Breasts consist mainly of skin, fat and connective tissue which can be lengthened, but not contracted again. If you want to avoid gravity pulling and wearing in the chest, it is important to have a good sports bra with optimal support for your training. The larger the chest and the more movement will need greater support from a sports bra.
ALL women should wear a sports bra during training, as even small breasts can move a lot when they are exposed to for example running and jumping.
How do I choose the right sports bra?
You should choose your sports bra based on the type of activity and how much support you need. A rule to remember is that the larger the cup size you use, the more support you need. The same goes for the more explosive movements you perform, the more support you need.
If you run, do crossfit, go horseback riding or do other forms of explosive training, you need more support than if you do for lighter training styles like fitness, yoga, golf or walking.
At Eyda, we have sports bras with light, medium and high support. If you are looking for bras with light to medium support, we recommend our styles Maria, Emma, Mila and Sophy. If, on the other hand, you need high support, we recommend our styles Helene, Karina and Trine.
To ensure that you always have the optimal support, you should change out your sports bra every 6-12 months, depending on how often you wear it.
]]>Have you thought about not having to run by time, distance or pace? How about just running to experience the city you live in? To see areas that you have never seen before? Running with a fitness tracker can easily pressure you to focus on your heart rate, speed or distance - whereas running without a tracker your focus can be released to something completely different. The feeling of becoming one with nature and enjoying that as your focus can prompt you to run according to what feels good for your body. Some days you might want a short run and other days you might like a long and slow run. No matter the speed or length your runs are for you. We love a mix of these factors and it is often our daily form of the day that dictates what type of run we’ll do. In this way we find that running gives us a positive mind-set, and fills us with energy.
We of course also experience the type of days, after a long and inactive work day, where the amount of excess energy is virtually non-existent. Here we have thought a lot about the differences of being mentally tired and being physically tired. We often find that what we need most after a long day is some fresh air and some movement , even though that might also be the furthest from our minds.
Make a workout date
If you want to succeed in running, it can be very helpful to make a date with a friend to go running. Make a promise to yourself or your friend that you are going and put it in your calendar to make your run as important as any other date.
Being active with someone else is fun which is why we really appreciate running with our friends. Begin your run at a pace where you are able to have small conversations and pick up speed as you are nearing your finish line - in this way you can have a chat while exercising! Doing small intervals and racing each other is also a way of making your run fun and in this way you can play with different speeds and distances. You can also stop along the way and do exercises such as squats, push ups or lunges. Running with your friends gives you both a great workout and some friend-time: a win-win, if you ask us.
Motivation
Do you ever stop and think about how lucky you are? Lucky to be able to move and run. Many people live with a condition disabling them to move in those ways. Being able to move and doing something good for yourself works as a way of pampering your soul.
We as humans are motivated and driven by different parameters and it can therefore be a good idea to find out exactly what motivates YOU. Does it revolve around getting time alone? Is it a break from your everyday life? Just some fresh air? Time with your friends? Could it be the sense of community within a running club? Whatever motivates you, helps you.
Set the bar low
We take great pride in reminding ourselves and others that everything counts. 2 K will always be better than the infamous 10 K that constantly gives a guilty conscience. Lower your expectations to yourself and work on the smaller and more achievable goals. Just getting into your workout clothes and getting your running shoes on is a success in itself. Tell yourself that if you end up regretting going out, you can always stop og turn around and run home. But we promise that 9 out of 10 times you won’t regret it and you’ll be proud of yourself!
What should you run in?
Our ultimate running outfit includes the Helene Running Tights. It is made of compression material ensuring that the tights stay in place and it has pockets for small belongings as well as an adjustable elastic in the waist.
A supportive sports bra is very important for running. Here we recommend the Elina High Support Sports Bra, which has an adjustable back closure. For this cooler weather we use the Emma Long Sleeve as the inner layer and top that with the light Linnea Recycled Running Shirt.
]]>
We understand that keeping your motivation high during these lock-down times is exceptionally hard! But we want to emphasise that it doesn't require much equipment or planning to get your heart rate up on your own livingroom floor. You can be the DJ of your own personal gym and it leaves you with a wonderful feeling afterward.
We have created a couple of workouts for you to do at home. They can be done around 10 minutes and is guaranteed to eget your body going. Use them to wake up your mind and body in the morning, as a physical break during your work day or you can even do a virtuel training session with some friends.
We believe that some is better than nothing. Set the bar low and choose some exercises you love. We know that it is easier to get your workout done if you like the exercises!
It can be a good idea to put down you workouts in your daily calendar, like you would a conference call. We promise you won't regret getting up and moving.
These short workouts we have included require no (or very little) equiptment! If you don't have kettlebell you can use ball, a bucket of paint, a filled back pack or any other weighty thing.
Workout 1:
21-15-9
All four exercises are done 21 times followed by all exercises done 15 times and finally all exercises are 9 times each. You control your breaks.
Workout 2:
EMOM10
'Every Minute On The Minute' is the type of workout where each exercise begins on every whole minute. Strive to work for 40-50 seconds per minute, giving yourself the rest of the minute as a break. Each round takes 5 minutes.
Workout 3:
AMRAP10
30 seconds break after each round
As Many Rounds As Possible - Do as many rounds as you can in 10 minutes. If you do not have a kettlebell for the kettlebell swings, this exercise can be replaced with either push ups or sit ups.
We strive to create comfortable training clothes making you ready for any movement even when you are sitting in your office chair. An easy transition from work and into your workout or for a calming yoga session without having to change.
Vores mål er at skabe så komfortabelt træningstøj, at du er super omstillingsparat og klar til at hoppe fra kontorstolen og ned på gulvet til en workout eller 10 minutters yoga, uden at skulle klæde om. Sia Basic Tights is super soft and comfortable while the Emma Bra and Maria Bra are perfect to where for long periods of time, making them easy to use during the day.

This time we have been on a short trip byThomas Holdersen in Aarhus Crossfit. Thomas is a university student of sport science while also being a weightlifting coach.
In our session we were introduced to the two popular lifts in weightlifting, namely the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk.
Weightlifting is a very technical form of exercise where the central nervous system is being quite challenged. Luckily for us, Thomas is a great teacher and he is super patient.
We began with a light warm-up followed by us increasing the level of skill work we were doing as well as the weight on the bar.
Thomas teaches at Aarhus Crossfit on a daily basis but he also coaches weightlifting in a local club. He has a number of athletes, both children and adults, who attend various competitions around the world.
During our session with Thomas we gained a lot of respect for how important technique and timing is within weightlifting. Proving to us that it is not all about being the strongest but that technique is of the utmost importance.
We have shared some stories with you in our highlights on Instagram, where you can get an insight into what weightlifting is.
If you haven’t spotted it, we have jumped into the new Lise Tights!
Mette is wearing the Red Violet colour and Anna is in Navy, additionally we are wearing the new Emma Tees, which are also online at the shop.]]>We believe that great workout clothes contribute and inspire to lead a more active life. A life where you feel like using your body because you wear clothes that allow you to. No tight jeans that restrict your movement or bras that gnaw at your skin.
In your training clothes, you are ready for sudden change. Going from playing on the floor with your children and on to the garden trampoline or even out for a run. Wearing tights and sneakers instead of restrictingpants and impractical shoes gives you a greater desire to move, like going for a long walk with a friend carrying a cup of coffee in hand.
We rejoice at the increasing amount of activewear in the streetscape, because we believe it provides more movement to all of us, in the end.
That is why we strive to make Eyda training clothes so comfortable that you almost don’t feel like you’re wearing them. We embrace that no two bodies are alike and therefore design styles with different fits and functions. Making sure that both you and your friend can find your favorites with us.
]]>....after an hour on the step platform, we were much wiser on these words in particular
A couple of weeks ago we, Anna and Mette, went to a sweaty and challenging step class with Phie in Aarhus. It was a total throwback to 2012, when we both used to join in step classes. Funnily enough we actually also used to do step classes together, when we both lived in Aarhus.
To step you don’t need anything other than yourself, a step platform and some good music. It’s a fun way to get your heart rate – or we think so at least. It almost feels like being back on the dance floor and even though it only felt like we had been going for 15 minutes an hour flew by.
We had the talented Phie, who is a step instructor at FitnessX in Aarhus, as our teacher for an hour of step. She brought us all the way ’back to basics’ but also gave us some challenging movements, with a lot of crazy turns. On Instagram Highlights you can find some videos of the step class with Phie. On top of that you can find an IG-TV with our first series of movements, allowing you to try it at home!
For the step class we wore Emma Pocket Tights and the Emma Bra, which are practically made for the purpose. The Emma Bra provides you with medium to high support, allowing you to go all out in your step class without having to worry.
]]>Because of the activities, we chose to layer our clothing making sure that we keep warm in the cold weather. Layering our soft Eyda hoodies and and sweatshirt are perfect the cold months! Adding a pair of gloves, a beanie and a scarf we were dressed well. The first ten minutes had us feeling like Bambi. But after a while we got the hang of it and put some speed in those skates. The ice skating rink was completely empty and we took the opportunity to put together som winter styles. Eyda clothing is super easy to mix and match and we love to be able to wear the same item in various ways!

Yoga as movement and training
There are many ways to strengthen and challenge your body. This is great as we all are different and through this have the possibility to find exactly what suites us. Many don't think of yoga as a way to strengthen and challenge your body, it is instead met with a preconceived idea of only practising breathing right and lying in child's pose.
But the sport is much more than that! It takes strength and endurance to move and be able to hold the various positions for the required amount of time. Yoga isn't the only sport that is met with a bias of not being challenging enough - we see the same about reformer Pilates. These two are not only physically challenging but also challenging for our mindset.
It was great having Mette and Anna through a yoga class and to introduce them to reformer Pilates. In that way they could get to feel how different forms of exercise can be challenging and how it leaves you with a comfortable feeling in your body.
Freedom of movement - from child to adult
We are born with an incredible level of flexibility and as young ones we use our body and its freedom of movement to travel in all directions. With yoga we look back at that freedom of movement that we once had, which we counteract and limit every day. Many have problems with their necks, shoulder and backs, experiences stiffness and soreness in these areas. Mette and Anna told me that they could feel a change in their lower back mobility as they embarked on their 30's. Because of this we focused our training on back bends and twists. These movements are not something we experience during the day and especially back bends can help strengthen the upper part of your back while easing tension in the back and shoulders.
By working with stretching and strength in yoga we can hopefully mend or pre-empt any injuries. Many are motivated to train through a desire to look a certain way, however we believe that training should be revolved around getting older while keeping your mobility in check. Many exercises in yoga and reformer Pilates can help better your posture, which must be the one thing making an old sole look young!
Mette and Anna have both tried yoga before and could both agree to the fantastic feeling your body and mind gets from an hour on a yoga mat. The conversation quickly closed in on why they don't do it more often. This was unknown, but for every time they try yoga or Pilates they hope to get more enlightened on their need for it. Hopefully, making the times between getting on the mat shorter and shorter.
What is reformer Pilates?
After an hour of yoga Mette and Anna were introduced to reformer Pilates. With this exercise the comfortable and calming feeling Mette and Anna got from yoga quickly disappeared, as they landed on the reformer.
During my time as a reformer Pilates instructor, I have seen the strongest and most well-trained men and women get tested to their limits though reformer Pilates. (AND with little to no weight on, I might add)
On the reformer we work with our own body weight supplement with springs to increase the resistance. Because the core is engaged at all times this type of workout gets sweaty quite quickly!

Preparation for the day with Mette and Anna
I had the pleasure of teaching the amazing EYDA women, Mette Lyngholm and Anne Eiholm. They has booked a day with me, at Movement Method in Aarhus, in relation to a project on discovering different kinds of movement.
They were put to the test in all thing from gymnastics, strength training to hand stand push ups.
The purpose of this event was to show the various ways in which you can move your body and that movement does not only revolve around fitness - on the contrary it contains many nuances. Shedding light on this is directly opposite of what has become the cultural norm for our individual physical ability. This is the main reason why movement is such an interesting field to work with.
The common way of thinking, in my experience, is focussed on the ability to move is something that has be introduced in the childhood - meaning that if gymnastic movement were not taught during childhood it would then not be possible to learn these skills as an adult. This way of thinking combined with the widespread notion of your body's physical decline after the year of 30 has created a critical view on movement.
Luckily this is far from the truth!
The fact is that movement is mush more than working out. The body is amazing and can adapt to incredible things - varying from specific athletic accomplishments to performing in a ballet. However, the body can also adapt to the opposite: stagnation and hypersensitivity. We as individuals have the control over what kind of life we want to live and how it will look in the eyes of movement. Bruse Lee called this "the art of expressing the human body".
Movement of the body
When we have learned to move we can then move to learn. This was something I was told as a child in relation to learning how to read. Later it has grown to mean a lot to me in terms of movement. My biggest focus is to pass on this way of thinking during my session with Mette and Anna. This is important in creating a curious outlook whilst bringing into light the question of motivation and the constant physical journey we are on. When this curiosity and understanding has taken its roots, this is when only you set the limits for your own development.
Everyone who has moved has experienced a response from it. That can be manifested in feelings of fun, difficulty or exertion. These responses can facilitate feelings of frustration, joy, incompetence or even a triumphant feeling. If we listen to these reaction, we can learn a lot about ourselves and what we want desire. It is exactly this that movement can give you, on top of the physical merits.
Due to this, EYDA's project revolving around exploring movement is brilliant, as it challenges our understanding of why and how we move. The modern practitioner of movement does not necessarily participate in a sport and become the best at it. Instead they design their own way of moving - by finding their needs and moving accordingly.
Creating more than just activewear - Creating community
Looking at yourself and your thought process is essential for taking ownership of your own participation in this world. If we do not lead ourselves in the direction of self-management the world around us will automatically control us. This notion inspired one of the main take aways from my session with Anna and Mette:
It is easy to see that EYDA is not just an activewear brand but also facilitates a large community. They have a vision of creating a realistic yet beautiful view on women. Where all types of bodies are welcome and all types of activity levels are equally important. By focussing on the acceptance of visible muscles, sweat and other everyday features of an active women, an image of the female form and its capabilities are redefined. This was a very important point for the session with Mette and Anna.
The amazing part about this, is that it takes its departure in activewear for women but ends up as a community standing together to create change.
Change for the better.
Change in the way that people think and further facilitates change in group behaviour. Groups that become communities and communities that change the global understanding.
We all have a unique opportunity to dive into ourselves and change the way in which we think on for example physical movement. No matter the focus the development is essential, in order to reach our full potential.
The day with Mette and Anna is not only an example of how little it takes to learn different ways of moving but also how mush change you can create if you dare go against the tide and listen to your own curiosity.
Keep moving,

With tons of fresh air and sweaty foreheads we absorbed the astounding surroundings. Glamping is a concept where you combine the luxury of staying in a hotel with the adventurous vibes of camping and outdoor living. A perfect break from the busy weekdays, where you have the opportunity to let your mind and mood flow.
- And that is exactly what happened. The stay was kicked off by climbing in the treetops at the Adventure Camp by the town Rønnede. After we were given harnesses, helmets and an introductory course we were ready to tackle to climbing obstacles that were 7 to 15 meters above the ground. The courses are built different kinds of obstacles and ropeways, some simple and close to the ground and others difficult and in the treetops.
From Easy Climbing to Being Caught in The Trees
The first course was called the yellow course and was a complete success! We quickly found out that wearing activewear was definitely a good decision, as you had to move every which way to complete the courses along with the intensifying heartrate, to match the increasing height. The activewear for this course was a pair of tights, a sports bra and a breathable top. During the course we had plenty of fun and had the ease to joke and talk all the way through it. This yellow course gave us a taste for more and we decided to delve into far more challenging courses, the red course.
The red course is the most advanced climbing course at the Adventure Camp, and it didn’t take long for us to rethink what we had ventured into. With complete concentration there was no longer any joking, now it was about surviving. – And that is exactly how it felt. With a rising fear of the height and the difficult obstacles we were sweating bullets. 2/3’s of the way we had to, begrudgingly cave in and climb down. Completely run over by the exertion and the mental challenge of it all we were both proud of how far we game and happy that we listened to our self.
Three Tips for You
A few tips for you who wants to try climbing: It is probably best not to go directly from the yellow course and onto the red one, choose some of the courses in between the two! Additionally, you should make sure to drink a lot of water, because climbing is more demanding than you think. Lastly, wear good activewear so you take on the courses with your full range of motion.
Well-deserved Glamping
Now it was finally time for the glamping. In the middle of the forest was a large clamping tent with a master bed overlooking the night sky. The tent had a kitchen, an extra bedroom in a hut and a bathroom with a view of the forest. Outside there was a huge patio with a fireplace and a hammock, simply a tent of your dreams.
We ate dinner and changed from one workout fit to the other, as we decided to go for a walk in a spiralling tower to see the sunset go down over the treetops. In order to get to the tower, we had to walk under a kilometre on long raised path that weaved its way through the trees. Aside from the view from 45 metres height (143 metres from the surface of the ocean) the tower itself was beautifully constructed and deserves a spot on your bucket list.
Back in the tent, the rest of the night was spent around the fire with marshmallows, tea and blankets. An unforgettable day, that we never wanted to end. Succumb by the activities of the day we went to bed early, which gave us the opportunity of waking up with the sun and doing some morning yoga.

Over the years Mette Mercedes has spent an impressive amount of hours training. She loves to study new workouts and developing new skills. And of course she loves sportswear that support the right places and makes her feel comfortable throughout the whole workout. Eyda has been a part of her training sessions for the last few years, and we are therefore very excited that we have been allowed to join a session with her in Silkeborg, Denmark. A regular week of exercising consists of both weight training and running, which are currently the greatest passion of Mette. She has, among other things, competed in bikini fitness and completed the Copenhagen Marathon and is currently training for a half marathon. She has an extraordinary will-power and once a goal is set, it will be completed.

Anna Eiholm is one of our EYDA girls, which we are incredibly proud of in many ways. She is a predecessor to a realistic view of health, and is not a stranger in killing myths such as; burn out, sugar is unhealthy or you have to eat many meals to keep the calories burning up. She teaches at the Fitness Institute (in Aarhus, Denmark), does health checks for several companies, is a personal trainer and a huge inspiration for many through her instagram.
Anna has been practicing everything from team training and fitness till today, where she primarily does cross-fit. Since she started, she has learned and developed tremendously and has competed in Cross-fit challenges several times. She is a power woman who fights for the goals that she sets for herself. Here we get an insight into what a workout can look like and why it is fun to do cross-fit.

"Some days I do workout, other days I don't. I may have periods when I am practically not exercising where my priorities and needs are different. When I do not get out, I do not need to tear myself down, because I do what I can and it that is good enough.
Exercise makes me happy so when possible, I try to get up early, get a quiet start to the day with a cup of tea in hand and a hearty breakfast. After that, I do some exercising before work. It energizes me to start my day off on a positive note.
Most of the time I am happy, but I can also have days when it all hits me at 200km/h, where I feel exhausted and without energy. Days where I feel like calling someone, but not being able to talk to anyone. I think we all have such days. Fortunately, I am good to remember that tomorrow is a new day with new opportunities.
If I have a long and busy day ahead of me, I like to wake up well in advance. When I do, I enjoy watching the city wake up as the sun rises. It is not unlikely that I will take a detour if I have the time, because a walk allows me to clear my head, charge for the day, and at the same time get some exercise.
I'm not a size small, and I probably never will. That's fine, because I have strong legs and strong arms. It is my body and I am proud of it. Often people compare themselves to each other, and it can decrease our self confidence. All bodies are perfect as they are, this may sound a bit of a cliché, but everyone else is already taken, so be just be yourself, its the best way in the long run."

In my own experience, however, I would like encourage you to do all you can to get it done anyways. For me, exercise works as a break in the head that provides renewed energy and boosts my mood. Something that can undoubtedly make it easier to get through tough periods with ease.
If you are still struggling to find time for training, consider whether you need to spend 60 minutes+ on a workout or less, and sometime less is more. Most people can squeeze in 30 minutes of training within their day, through a quick run or some bodyweight exercises.
There is no doubt that phones are consuming large amounts of our time. By limiting your screen time, you can free up more time for the things you would rather spend your time on. Eg. working out.
The phone can also be a time robber when you are in the gym. If you want to achieve better results in less time, you can put your phone in flight mode, so you avoid distracting notifications or that you sit between the exercises and scroll through your instagram feed.
You can easily combine an appointment with a friend, so why not hit two birds with one stone? Of course, remember to exercise, even if you have a lot to talk about. In addition to being comfortable with a workout buddy, it might also be easier to squeeze yourself into a few repetitions more, or a little heavier weights when having a friend.
End the workout with a good lunch, a healthy one of course.
Although it is nice to have a clean home, it may be perfectly okay to skip the vacuum or laundry, and instead get some exercise into the account. Perhaps the latter contributes with the best mood, and maybe even extra energy to do the cleaning.
Save time shopping and cooking and get the fridge emptied instead. It may not be a gourmet dinner, but no one has been harmed by a simple cooked dish, or even a couple of eggs for dinner. Maybe it can release an extra hour for a run, or a trip to the gym.

]]>Life strikes us; we get family and kids, we get a demanding job or want to spend more time with friends and loved ones. We are making other priorities, but the desire to be active is still there. It can also turn the other way, maybe there is suddenly room for exercise to be given higher priority? Our mission is to wipe away destructive ideas and certain parameters of what it takes to be active.
We urge you to take the bad conscience out of the equation and accept that being active is relative and changes depending on where we are in life. It is not an admonition, but a kind reminder that we all have different preconditions. That's what we mean when we say: Do What You Can.
I hope and am sure that you will love your EYDA styles whatever you choose to use them for.
All the best,
Mette Lyngholm, Founder and Owner of EYDA
